R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, Tramar Lacel Dillard, better known to his fans as
  Flo Rida, has earned great distinction for himself with his success
  as a rapper, singer, songwriter, and composer; and
         WHEREAS, A native of Carol City, Florida, Flo Rida released
  his breakout single, "Low," featuring T-Pain, in November 2007, and
  the track broke the record for digital download sales at the time;
  it quickly became a hit on U.S. Billboard charts, peaking at number
  one in January 2008 and holding that spot for 10 weeks; the artist's
  first studio album, Mail on Sunday, debuted at number four in April
  2008; and
         WHEREAS, Flo Rida's sophomore album, R.O.O.T.S. (Route of
  Overcoming the Struggle), became the eighth best-selling rap album
  of 2009, and its first single, "Right Round," featuring Kesha,
  charted at number one for six weeks and beat his previous record for
  digital one-week sales in the U.S.; in November 2010, he published
  an EP, Only One Flo (Part 1), which included "Club Can't Handle Me,"
  featuring David Guetta; and
         WHEREAS, Flo Rida again topped the charts in 2012 with his
  song, "Whistle," from his album Wild Ones, and other popular songs
  from the album include "I Cry," "Good Feeling," and "Wild Ones,"
  featuring Sia; he went on to release his EP My House in 2015, and he
  gained acclaim for its title track and "G.D.F.R." featuring Sage
  the Gemini and Lookas; and
         WHEREAS, Over the years, Flo Rida has sold more than 80
  million records worldwide, and he has been featured on songs from
  numerous other well-known artists; he has also performed on
  television programs such as So You Think You Can Dance, and in 2010
  he established his own label, International Music Group; and
         WHEREAS, Flo Rida has won the admiration of innumerable
  people all over the world, and he is indeed deserving of special
  recognition for his accomplishments; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas
  Legislature hereby honor Tramar Lacel Dillard for his successful
  career in the music industry and extend to him sincere best wishes
  for the future; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for Flo Rida as an expression of high regard by the Texas
  House of Representatives.
