SENATE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, At 7 a.m. on the morning of November 18, 2014 a
3deadly attack was carried out on those peacefully worshipping
4at the Kehilat Bnei Torah synagogue in Jerusalem, Israel; and
5 WHEREAS, The attack, which started at the height of morning
6services, was the deadliest one on Israeli civilians in more
7than 3 years and the worst in the city since 2008; and
8 WHEREAS, Three of the 4 worshippers killed in the attack
9were dual citizens of Israel and the United States; the fifth
10fatality was a police officer; 7 others were wounded in the
11attack; and
12 WHEREAS, Those who lost their lives in the attack were
13Zidan Saif, Kalman Levine, Aryeh Kupinsky, Moshe Twersky, and
14Avraham Goldberg; and
15 WHEREAS, Many world leaders have rightfully spoken out in
16condemnation of the attack; therefore, be it
17 RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL
18ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we strongly condemn the
19attack on the Kehilat Bnei Torah synagogue in Jerusalem on
20November 18, 2014 and we stand in support of those who were

3 RESOLVED, That suitable copies of this resolution be
4presented to the families of those slain in the attack.
