An act to add Section 69503.6 to the Education Code, relating to postsecondary education.
LEGISLATIVE COUNSEL'S DIGEST
AB 1961, Choi.
Postsecondary education: student housing and meal plans.
Under existing law, the segments of postsecondary education in this state are the University of California, the California State University, the California Community Colleges, independent institutions of higher education, and private postsecondary educational institutions.
This bill would require each institution of higher education with a physical presence in this state to separately list the cost of institutionally operated housing and meal plans on all Internet Web sites and documents it provides to students for purposes of
advertising or otherwise displaying the student costs associated with institutionally operated housing.
