SENATE BILL 1386

 

 

 

AN ACT

 

making a supplemental appropriation to the department of administration to contract for a review of child protective services.

Be it enacted by the Legislature of the State of Arizona:

Section 1.  Supplemental appropriation; department of administration; external review and recommendations; child protective services; exemption; nonlapsing

A.  In addition to any other monies appropriated to the department of administration in fiscal year 2013‑2014, the sum of $250,000 is appropriated from the state general fund in fiscal year 2013-2014 to the department of administration to contract with an independent expert consultant to conduct an external review of child protective services in this state, to identify best practices in other states regarding the delivery of child protective services and to make recommendations for improving the delivery of child protective services in this state.

B.  For the purposes of this act, the department of administration is exempt from the procurement code requirements of title 41, chapter 23, Arizona Revised Statutes.

C.  The appropriation made in subsection A of this section is exempt from the provisions of section 35-190, Arizona Revised Statutes, relating to lapsing of appropriations.
