SENATE JOINT RESOLUTION NO. 246
Celebrating the life of Jeremy Jason Wise.

WHEREAS, Jeremy Jason Wise, age 35 of Virginia Beach, was killed on December 30, 2009, in Afghanistan while serving with the XE Security Company in support of Operation Enduring Freedom; and

WHEREAS, Jeremy Wise was killed along with several colleagues when insurgents attacked Forward Operating Base Chapman in the Khost province of Afghanistan; and

WHEREAS, a patriotic and courageous man, Jeremy Wise was a former Navy SEAL who had proudly served his country for eight years and had been stationed in Little Creek, Virginia, while on active duty; and

WHEREAS, a graduate of Westside Christian School in Arkansas, Jeremy Wise received a bachelor's degree from Hendrix University; and

WHEREAS, Jeremy Wise will be greatly missed by his wife, Dana Maria Wise; son, Ethan Daniel Prusinski; father, Jean Farley Wise; mother, Mary Lee Wise; and his numerous other family members, friends, and admirers; and

WHEREAS, Jeremy Wise was a true team player who was always focused on the well-being of his fellow soldiers and colleagues and his death is a reminder of the perils faced daily by those whose devotion to duty leads them into harm's way; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED by the Senate, the House of Delegates concurring, That the General Assembly hereby note with great sadness the loss of a great patriot and outstanding Virginian, Jeremy Jason Wise; and, be it

RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the Senate prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to the family of Jeremy Jason Wise as an expression of the high regard in which his memory is held by the members of the General Assembly and the citizens of Virginia.
