SENATE JOINT RESOLUTION NO. 131
Celebrating the life of Captain Anderson Keaton King, USAR.

WHEREAS, Captain Anderson Keaton King, USAR, an honorable member of the United States Army Reserve, accomplished businessman, and beloved husband, father, brother, and member of the Woodstock community, died on November 2, 2023; and

WHEREAS, after graduating from Clarke County High School, Anderson "Andy" King earned a degree in agricultural studies in 2018 from the Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University, where he was a member of the Virginia Tech Corps of Cadets; and

WHEREAS, Andy King was commissioned as an officer in the United States Army Reserve and served his country with unwavering dedication, rising to the rank of captain; and

WHEREAS, Andy King excelled in business as a top-selling branch manager of Helena Agri-Enterprises, a leading distributor of seed, fertilizer, and other agricultural products, helping countless farmers achieve success in their endeavors; and

WHEREAS, Andy King was a passionate and engaged member of the Woodstock community, giving generously of his time to support the Central High School football team among other activities; and

WHEREAS, guided throughout his life by his faith, Andy King enjoyed worship and fellowship with his community at Emanuel Lutheran Church in Woodstock; and

WHEREAS, Andy King was serving his country faithfully the weekend of November 2, 2023, drilling with the United States Army Reserve, when he lost his life in the line of duty during a training accident; and

WHEREAS, Andy King will be lovingly remembered and dearly missed by his wife and the love of his life, Amy; his daughter, Adalyn; his brothers, Alexander, Adam, and Ash; and numerous other family members and friends; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED by the Senate, the House of Delegates concurring, That the General Assembly hereby note with great sadness the loss of Captain Anderson Keaton King, USAR, a cherished member of the Woodstock community who was a source of joy and inspiration to all who knew him; and, be it

RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the Senate prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to the family of Captain Anderson Keaton King, USAR, as an expression of the General Assembly's respect for his memory.
