WHEREAS, Ashley Elizabeth Schweizer, a multiple disabilities teacher at North Springfield Elementary School, was named the Fairfax County Public Schools Region 2 Outstanding Elementary School New Teacher for 2023; and
WHEREAS, Ashley Elizabeth Schweizer helps North Springfield Elementary School fulfill its mission of empowering students to demonstrate social, emotional, and cultural awareness, value diversity of thought, and achieve at their highest academic level; and
WHEREAS, Ashley Elizabeth Schweizer's teaching philosophy is grounded in the ideals of inclusion and acceptance for all students, and she fosters a welcoming environment by extending compassion and kindness to all; and
WHEREAS, Ashley Elizabeth Schweizer always offers her students a helping hand, an encouraging word, or a smile to let them know they are valued and supported, ensuring they flourish and succeed both in and out of the classroom; and
WHEREAS, Ashley Elizabeth Schweizer develops meaningful relationships with her students' families and they appreciate her for her professionalism and knowledge and the support she provides for her students; and
WHEREAS, Ashley Elizabeth Schweizer is an impactful educator and is respected by her peers for collaborating effectively with them to develop lesson plans and instructional assignments that are built around students' needs and interests; and
WHEREAS, Ashley Elizabeth Schweizer is a radiating presence at North Springfield Elementary School and mentors North Springfield Beavers outside of the classroom through her involvement with the Sunshine Committee, Social Emotional Learning Committee, the school play, and Speed Stack Club; and
WHEREAS, as a graduate of Fairfax County Public Schools, Ashley Elizabeth Schweizer strives every day to give back to the community that made her the impactful educator that she is today; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED by the House of Delegates, That Ashley Elizabeth Schweizer hereby be commended for being named the 2023 Fairfax County Public Schools Region 2 Outstanding Elementary School New Teacher; and, be it
RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the House of Delegates prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to Ashley Elizabeth Schweizer as an expression of the House of Delegates' high regard for her contributions to the Commonwealth.
