Commending Richard L. Grice.

WHEREAS, Richard L. Grice, an esteemed public servant, retired from his seat on the Isle of Wight County Board of Supervisors on December 31, 2023; and

WHEREAS, Richard "Dick" L. Grice joined the Isle of Wight County Board of Supervisors in January 2016, representing the former Smithfield District, now listed as District 1; and

WHEREAS, Dick Grice ably led the Isle of Wight County Board of Supervisors as its chair from January 2021 through December 2021 and as its vice chair from January 2020 through December 2020; and

WHEREAS, Dick Grice played a vital role in developing and improving the Isle of Wight County Board of Supervisors' partnerships in the community and the region through his service on the Eastern Virginia Regional Industrial Facility Authority, Hampton Roads Alliance, Hampton Roads Workforce Council, Western Tidewater Community Transportation Collaborative, Western Tidewater Water Authority, and others; and

WHEREAS, through his dedication, integrity, and unwavering commitment to Isle of Wight County and the well-being of its residents, Dick Grice has embodied the highest ideals of public service and helped to make Isle of Wight County a wonderful place to live, work, and raise a family; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED by the House of Delegates, the Senate concurring, That the General Assembly hereby commend Richard L. Grice on the occasion of his retirement from the Isle of Wight County Board of Supervisors; and, be it

RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the House of Delegates prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to Richard L. Grice as an expression of the General Assembly's admiration for his contributions to Isle of Wight County and the Commonwealth.
