A BILL to amend and reenact §28.2-706 of the Code of
Virginia, relating to crab scraping; possession of hard crabs; characteristics
of scrape.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:
1. That §28.2-706 of the Code of Virginia is amended and reenacted as follows:
§28.2-706. Restrictions on crab scraping; penalty.
It is unlawful for any person to:
1. Use a crab scrape having a mouth longer than four
five feet and a toothed bar; or
2. Haul a scrape, except
by hand;
3. Have
more than two scrapes overboard; or
4. Possess hard crabs
while having a crab scrape on board.
A violation of any provision of this section is a Class 3 misdemeanor.
