A BILL to amend the Code of Virginia by adding in Article 6 of Chapter 29 of Title 54.1 a section numbered 54.1-2973.1, relating to coercion of pregnant woman prohibited.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:

1. That the Code of Virginia is amended by adding in Article 6 of Chapter 29 of Title 54.1 a section numbered 54.1-2973.1 as follows:

§54.1-2973.1. Coercion of pregnant woman prohibited.

No practitioner of the healing arts shall make any attempt or take any action intended to coerce a pregnant woman regarding options related to the birth of her child, including consenting to surgical interventions related to the birth of her child.
