A BILL to amend the Code of
Virginia by adding in Article 4 of Chapter 2 of Title 33.2 a section numbered
33.2-280.2, relating to use of salt and brine; certain highways.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:
1. That the Code of Virginia is amended by adding in Article 4 of Chapter 2 of Title 33.2 a section numbered 33.2-280.2 as follows:
§33.2-280.2. Treatment of highway surfaces with salt or brine prohibited; Occoquan watershed.
The Department shall not use salt or brine for stabilization or control of snow or ice on any highway that is a part of the primary or secondary state highway system and located in the watershed, as that term is defined in §62.1-44.15:24, of the Occoquan River.
