SENATE RESOLUTION
         WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas honors and
  commemorates the life of Matthew Alan Guidry, who died on
  November 21, 2022, at the age of 57; and
         WHEREAS, Matthew Alan Guidry was born on September 16,
  1965, in Beaumont to J. Paul Guidry and Judy Angenend Guidry; he
  attended Cy Fair High School and went on to earn a degree from
  Southwest Texas State University in San Marcos; and
         WHEREAS, Matt's friendliness and good nature endeared him
  to the members of his community, and he resided in the Houston and
  Austin areas for many years; he was an avid music fan and a
  talented vocalist, and he was known for his love of rock and roll
  and soul music and his extensive knowledge of the genres; a
  natural entertainer, Matt made friends wherever life took him,
  and he touched the lives of countless people through the warmth
  and positivity he shared with everyone around him; and
         WHEREAS, Matt was a fighter who weathered the storms of
  life with perseverance and conviction; he was a devout Catholic
  who was guided by his faith in his daily life, and he was an
  active congregant of his church; and
         WHEREAS, Matt was a devoted father to his children, Anna
  Gabriella and Matthew Christopher, and a treasured member of his
  community; though his presence no longer warms the hearts of
  those who loved him on earth, he leaves behind memories that will
  be forever cherished by his family and friends and by all who were
  blessed to share in his life; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 88th
  Legislature, hereby extend sincere condolences to the bereaved
  family of Matthew Alan Guidry; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
  his family as an expression of deepest sympathy from the Texas
  Senate.
