SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 63
WHEREAS, The prosperity of the Lone Star State has been
greatly influenced by family farming and ranching, and Betty Royal
Rackley of Atascosa County has been officially recognized as heir
to this proud tradition with the acceptance of the Old Fuller Place
into the state's Family Land Heritage Program in 2023; and

WHEREAS, Sponsored by the Texas Department of Agriculture,
this program honors farms and ranches that have been in
continuous agricultural operation by the same family for a
  century or more; and

WHEREAS, William Barton Fuller moved to Atascosa County
with his parents, John S. and Rebecca Fuller, and he grew up in a
pioneer home centered around a life of ranching; in 1900, he
acquired 191 acres of land from the Jose Peche original tract,
where he raised cattle; he later passed the ranch down to his son,
Guy Fuller, who in turn transferred ownership to his nephew, Ned
Royal; today, the Old Fuller Place is owned by Betty Royal
Rackley, the great-granddaughter of the founder, and it
continues to produce beef cattle; and

WHEREAS, In preserving her property as a working ranch,
Betty Rackley is making her own contribution to her family's
legacy, and it is indeed fitting that she be honored for her
outstanding stewardship; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 88th
Legislature, 3rd Called Session, hereby congratulate Betty Royal
Rackley on the induction of the Old Fuller Place into the Texas
Department of Agriculture Family Land Heritage Program and extend
to her sincere best wishes for the future; and, be it further

RESOLVED, That an official copy of this Resolution be
prepared for Ms. Rackley as an expression of high regard from the
  Texas Senate.
