Jose Angel Martinez | ||
WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas honors and | ||
commemorates the life of Jose Angel Martinez, who died on | ||
December 16, 2019, at the age of 67; and | ||
WHEREAS, Jose Angel Martinez was born on August 2, 1952, in | ||
El Palmarito, Nuevo León, Mexico; he attended elementary school | ||
through the third grade before immigrating with his family to the | ||
United States; and | ||
WHEREAS, A man of determination and strength, Mr. Martinez | ||
served as a foreman in the Central Valley of California and was | ||
employed with the same farmer for nearly 50 years; he was blessed | ||
with four children and nine grandchildren, who were a source of | ||
great pride and joy in his life; and | ||
WHEREAS, A devoted father, Mr. Martinez instilled in his | ||
children the values of hard work, self-reliance, and the | ||
importance of contributing to one's community; he helped his | ||
children achieve their dreams and found great reward in their | ||
successes; and | ||
WHEREAS, Mr. Martinez cherished time spent with family, | ||
and he enjoyed his visits during the holidays with family members | ||
in the Rio Grande Valley; he resided in Mission while being cared | ||
for by family, and he returned to his native Mexico, where he | ||
spent his final days; and | ||
WHEREAS, Mr. Martinez was a source of strength and | ||
inspiration in the lives of those who knew him, and he leaves | ||
behind memories that will be forever treasured by his family and | ||
friends and by all who were privileged to share in his life; now, | ||
therefore, be it | ||
RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 88th | ||
Legislature, hereby extend sincere condolences to the bereaved | ||
family of Jose Angel Martinez; and, be it further | ||
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for | ||
his family as an expression of deepest sympathy from the Texas | ||
Senate and that when the Senate adjourns this day, it do so in | ||
memory of Jose Angel Martinez. | ||
