| relating to the calculation of average daily attendance for | ||
| purposes of the public school finance system. | ||
| BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | ||
| SECTION 1. Section 48.005, Education Code, is amended by | ||
| adding Subsection (o) to read as follows: | ||
| (o) Notwithstanding any other provision of this section, a | ||
| school district is entitled to funding for a school year on the | ||
| basis of the greater of: | ||
| (1) the district's actual average daily attendance for | ||
| that school year; or | ||
| (2) the average of the district's average daily | ||
| attendance for the preceding three school years. | ||
| SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2023. | ||
