| WHEREAS, The City of Mont Belvieu is hosting the grand | ||
| opening of its new city hall and fire station on November 14, 2023; | ||
| and | ||
| WHEREAS, The new facilities will serve to anchor what the | ||
| city has envisioned as a livable, mixed-use downtown area and to | ||
| replace the old municipal complex, which was built in 1991; and | ||
| WHEREAS, Mont Belvieu broke ground on the city hall on | ||
| March 18, 2021; encompassing nearly 31,000 square feet, the | ||
| building will house a majority of the city's departments, allowing | ||
| for more efficient interdepartmental collaboration and improved | ||
| customer service for residents; the structure includes multiple | ||
| conference rooms and additional space for future growth; and | ||
| WHEREAS, Located across the street from the new city hall, | ||
| Mont Belvieu Fire Station 1 will enable the city's volunteer | ||
| firefighters and full-time paramedics to better serve the community | ||
| and achieve faster response times; the station has such amenities | ||
| as a public lobby with a treatment room for walk-in patients, | ||
| training and fitness rooms, dormitories, and decontamination | ||
| facilities; and | ||
| WHEREAS, Mont Belvieu's impressive new city hall and fire | ||
| station are sure to be a significant resource to the community for | ||
| years to come, and it is a pleasure to join in recognizing the | ||
| vision, leadership, and hard work of those who helped bring this | ||
| project to fruition; now, therefore, be it | ||
| RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas | ||
| Legislature, 3rd Called Session, hereby commemorate the grand | ||
| opening of the new city hall and fire station in Mont Belvieu and | ||
| commend all those who have contributed to this endeavor for their | ||
| efforts; and, be it further | ||
| RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be | ||
| prepared for the City of Mont Belvieu as an expression of high | ||
| regard by the Texas House of Representatives. | ||
