	H.R. No. 569



	R E S O L U T I O N

	WHEREAS, Missy Bender is retiring as president of the Plano
	Independent School District Board of Trustees, following 13 years
	of exemplary service to the district; and
	WHEREAS, First elected to the board in 2006, Ms. Bender is
	currently serving her third year as president, and she has
	previously held the positions of vice president and secretary; over
	the course of her tenure, she earned the distinction of being the
	only trustee appointed to the Texas Education Agency's
	Accountability Policy Advisory Committee by the Texas Association
	of School Boards, and she received the prestigious TASB designation
	of "Master Trustee," as well as its 2014 Outstanding Leadership
	Award; furthermore, she is a cofounder of the nonprofit
	organization Trustees for Texas; and
	WHEREAS, A resident of Plano for the past three decades,
	Ms. Bender graduated from Plano East Senior High School as part of
	its charter class and went on to earn a bachelor's degree in
	marketing from Southern Methodist University; dedicated to
	ensuring all students have equal access to quality education
	regardless of their background, she has been active in the Parent
	Teacher Associations for Daffron Elementary, Robinson Middle,
	Jasper High, and Plano West Senior High Schools, and she has been
	honored as a PTA Life Member; in addition, she has been a prominent
	participant in organizations such as Practical Parent Education,
	the Forest Outreach Foundation, the Plano ISD Education Foundation,
	and Women Making a Difference in Plano; and
	WHEREAS, Missy Bender has helped the district provide
	students with the knowledge and skills necessary to become
	successful and productive citizens, and her contributions to the
	Plano ISD board will continue to benefit the community for years to
	come; now, therefore, be it
	RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 86th Texas
	Legislature hereby commend Missy Bender for her service on the
	Plano Independent School District Board of Trustees and extend to
	her sincere best wishes for the future; and, be it further
	RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
	prepared for Ms. Bender as an expression of high regard by the Texas
	House of Representatives.
