R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, Family and friends will long cherish their memories
  of Napoleon G. Sanchez of Lytle, who passed away on September 25,
  2020, at the age of 87; and
         WHEREAS, The son of Jesus and Micaela Sanchez, Polo Sanchez
  was born on May 27, 1933, as one of 12 children in a migrant farming
  family from Lytle; and
         WHEREAS, Answering his nation's call to duty, Mr. Sanchez
  joined the U.S. Air Force, and he served honorably until his
  retirement in 1972; his military career included assignments in
  Texas, California, Illinois, France, Spain, England, and Thailand;
  in civilian life, he helped establish Los Sanchez, a restaurant in
  Lincoln, Nebraska, and after returning to Texas, he pursued
  opportunities in real estate and land development; and
         WHEREAS, Mr. Sanchez was involved with the Air Force
  Sergeants Association, the Moose Lodge, the Veterans of Foreign
  Wars, the Knights of Columbus, the National Rifle Association, and
  the American Legion; sustained by a deep faith, he was a member of
  the Catholic Church; and
         WHEREAS, In all his endeavors, Mr. Sanchez enjoyed the love
  and support of his wife of 66 years, Petra, and he took great pride
  in their children, Napoleon, Dave, Miguel, and Maria; with the
  passing years, he had the pleasure of seeing his family grow to
  include eight grandchildren, Napoleon, Samuel, Jordan, Melodi,
  Michelle, Stephanie, Jeremiah, and Daniel, and 11
  great-grandchildren; and
         WHEREAS, Deeply dedicated to his family, his faith, and his
  country, Polo Sanchez earned the lasting respect and admiration of
  all who were privileged to know him, and he leaves behind a record
  of service that his loved ones can remember with pride; now,
  therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 87th Texas
  Legislature hereby pay tribute to the memory of Napoleon G. Sanchez
  and extend sincere condolences to all who mourn his passing; and, be
  it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of
  Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Polo
  Sanchez.
