R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, The United States of America is a world leader that
  other nations look to for guidance, leadership, and example; and
         WHEREAS, The Texas House of Representatives believes that all
  human life is precious, and the targeting of civilians, no matter
  their faith or ethnicity, is a violation of international
  humanitarian law; and
         WHEREAS, War anywhere causes destruction and human
  casualties; but the unintended consequence of the current
  Israel-Hamas conflict has been the deaths of innocent civilians;
  there have been reports of over 15,000 Palestinians and 1,200
  Israelis, most of whom were newborns, children, women, and the
  frail and elderly, causing a humanitarian crisis of epic
  proportions; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas
  Legislature, 4th Called Session, hereby supports the preservation
  of life and encourages the United States Congress and the President
  of the United States to continue to facilitate negotiations to end
  the conflict between Israel and Palestine so their citizens can
  live peacefully; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That the Chief Clerk of the House forward official
  copies of this resolution to the President of the United States, to
  the President of the Senate and the Speaker of the House of
  Representatives of the United States Congress, and to all the
  members of the Texas delegation to congress with the request that
  this resolution be entered in the Congressional Record as a
  memorial to the Congress of the United States of America.
