WHEREAS, The citizens of Rowlett have greatly benefited from | ||
the dedicated leadership and countless contributions of city | ||
council member Ron Miller; and | ||
WHEREAS, A business owner with several decades of experience | ||
in real estate finance, Ron Miller began his career as an appraiser | ||
for Cole-Layer-Trumble Company in Dayton, Ohio; answering his | ||
country's call to duty, he enlisted in the United States Air Force | ||
and served as a medic during the Vietnam War; following his | ||
discharge, he moved to Texas and settled in Rowlett in 1975 to work | ||
with Lomas & Nettleton Financial Corporation; he established his | ||
own business, Mortgage Support Services, in 1990 and continues to | ||
work as a consultant in real estate finance; and | ||
WHEREAS, Councilman Miller was elected to his current | ||
position in July 2011, bringing with him his considerable financial | ||
expertise to serve the citizens of Rowlett; he has additionally | ||
been on the Parks and Recreation Advisory Board, the DART's Station | ||
Art & Design Program Committee, the Environmental Learning Center | ||
Committee, and the Steering Committee for the Comprehensive | ||
Planning and Zoning review; moreover, he has been a frequent | ||
contributor to the Dallas Morning News as a Community Voices | ||
columnist, discussing matters relating to the Lake Ray Hubbard | ||
area; and | ||
WHEREAS, Each day, public servants improve the quality of | ||
life for their fellow citizens in innumerable ways, and Ron Miller | ||
is helping to make Rowlett an even better place in which to live and | ||
work; now, therefore, be it | ||
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas | ||
Legislature hereby honor Ron Miller for his outstanding service to | ||
Rowlett and extend to him sincere best wishes for continued | ||
success; and, be it further | ||
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be | ||
prepared for Councilman Miller as an expression of high regard by | ||
the Texas House of Representatives. | ||
