| BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | ||
| SECTION 1. Subchapter L, Chapter 264, Family Code, is | ||
| amended by adding Section 264.908 to read as follows: | ||
| Sec. 264.908. USE OF PARENTAL CHILD SAFETY PLACEMENTS. (a) | ||
| Notwithstanding other law, the department shall use a parental | ||
| child safety placement in each case in which the department | ||
| determines it is appropriate. | ||
| (b) If the department determines that a parental child | ||
| safety placement is not appropriate, the department shall record in | ||
| writing in the child's case file the reasons the department | ||
| determined a parental child safety placement was not appropriate. | ||
| SECTION 2. This Act takes effect on the 91st day after the | ||
| last day of the legislative session. | ||
