| BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | ||
| SECTION 1. Subchapter F, Chapter 57, Water Code, is amended | ||
| by adding Section 57.178 to read as follows: | ||
| Sec. 57.178. DISBURSEMENT OF DISTRICT MONEY. The board by | ||
| resolution may allow: | ||
| (1) a bank in which the district deposits money to sign | ||
| disbursements; | ||
| (2) the disbursement of district money to be | ||
| transferred by Automated Clearing House (ACH); and | ||
| (3) the wire or electronic transfer of district money | ||
| to vendors or other authorized accounts not in the name of the | ||
| district. | ||
| SECTION 2. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives | ||
| a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as | ||
| provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this | ||
| Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this | ||
| Act takes effect September 1, 2023. | ||
