A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
 
AN ACT
  relating to a prohibition on receipt of state money by businesses
  that implement COVID-19 vaccination requirements.
         BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
         SECTION 1.  Subchapter A, Chapter 161, Health and Safety
  Code, is amended by adding Section 161.0086 to read as follows:
         Sec. 161.0086.  PROHIBITED RECEIPT OF STATE MONEY BY CERTAIN
  BUSINESSES. (a) In this section, "COVID-19" means the 2019 novel
  coronavirus disease.
         (b)  A business in this state that requires the business's
  customers, employees, vendors, or contractors to be vaccinated
  against COVID-19 is not eligible to receive state grant money or
  enter into a contract payable with state money.
         SECTION 2.  Section 161.0086, Health and Safety Code, as
  added by this Act, applies only to a state grant awarded to or a
  contract entered into by a business in this state on or after the
  effective date of this Act.
         SECTION 3.  This Act takes effect September 1, 2023.
