No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.
The bill would create the criminal offense of parking a vehicle in a parking space or area specifically designated for individuals with disabilities and the vehicle not displaying a disabled veteran's license plate or placard. The offense would be a misdemeanor with increasing penalties for multiple convictions. The bill would require a court to dismiss a charge for this offense under certain conditions. It is assumed that any fiscal impact and any impact on state correctional populations or on the demand for state correctional resources would not be significant.
Local Government Impact
It is assumed that any fiscal impact to units of local government associated with enforcement, prosecution, supervision, or confinement would not be significant.
