The committee on House Invitations and Memorial Resolutions

To whom was referred a Concurrent Resolution (H. 5520) to request the Department of Transportation name the portion of Ogden Road in York County from its intersection with Heckle Boulevard to its intersection with Harrison, etc., respectfully

That they have duly and carefully considered the same, and recommend that the same do pass:

A concurrent RESOLUTION

to request the Department of Transportation name the portion of Ogden Road in York County from its intersection with Heckle Boulevard to its intersection with Harrison Street "Daisy Rogers McDuffie Road" and erect appropriate markers or signs along this road containing these words.

Whereas, Mrs. Daisy Rogers McDuffie, the second daughter of the late James and Carrie Wilson Rogers was born on February 22, 1922, in Conway; and

Whereas, a 1940 graduate of Whittemore High School, she continued her education at South Carolina State College in Orangeburg, graduating with a bachelor's degree in 1944; and

Whereas, Mrs. Rogers and her late husband Mr. Dock C. McDuffie, Jr., were blessed with their sons Roger Kent McDuffie, Dock C. McDuffie, III, and the late Malcolm Bernard McDuffie; and

Whereas, the Lord also has blessed her with grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren; and

Whereas, an active member of her community with a lifetime of service to mankind, Mrs. McDuffie celebrated her 102nd birthday on February 22, 2024; and

Whereas, it would be fitting and proper to recognize this milestone in Mrs. McDuffie's life and her commitment to community service by naming a portion of a road in York County in her honor. Now therefore,

Be it resolved by the House of Representatives, the Senate concurring:

That the members of the South Carolina General Assembly, by this resolution, request the Department of Transportation name the portion of Ogden Road in York County from its intersection with Heckle Boulevard to its intersection with Harrison Street "Daisy Rogers McDuffie Road" and erect appropriate markers or signs along this road containing these words.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to the Department of Transportation.
