AN ACT

Amending Title 74 (Transportation) of the Pennsylvania

2

Consolidated Statutes, providing for toll exemptions.

The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania

4

hereby enacts as follows:

5

Section 1.  Title 74 of the Pennsylvania Consolidated

6

Statutes is amended by adding a chapter to read:

7

8501.  Toll exemptions.

§ 8501.  Toll exemptions.

(a)  Exemption.--The following vehicles shall be exempt from

13

paying a toll to travel on any Pennsylvania toll road except as

14

provided in subsection (b):

15

(1)  A vehicle used by a Pennsylvania resident to commute

16

to the resident's place of employment on a near daily basis.

17

(2)  A vehicle registered in Pennsylvania and owned or

18

operated by a trucking company with corporate headquarters

registered in Pennsylvania.

(b)  Limitations.--This section shall not apply to the

3

following:

4

(1)  The Pennsylvania Turnpike.

5

(2)  Any toll road created before the effective date of

6

this section.

7

Section 2.  This act shall take effect in 60 days.
