AN ACT

Amending Title 75 (Vehicles) of the Pennsylvania Consolidated

Statutes,further providing for special hauling permits as to

3

weight and size and for conditions of permits and security

4

for damages.

The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania

6

hereby enacts as follows:

7

Section 1.  Sections 1942 and 4962 of Title 75 of the

8

Pennsylvania Consolidated Statutes are amended by adding

9

subsections to read:

10

§ 1942.  Special hauling permits as to weight and size.

11

(c)  Supplement fee.--The fee for each supplement for vehicle

13

substitution as authorized under section 4962(f.2) (relating to

14

conditions of permits and security for damages) shall be $25.

§ 4962.  Conditions of permits and security for damages.

(f.3)  Permit supplements for vehicle substitution.--The

18

department may authorize the substitution of a motor vehicle, a

19

truck tractor or a semitrailer if:

 


1

(1)  No weights or sizes are increased and the

2

substituted vehicle has the same number of axles and wheels

3

with spacings between axles and vehicle manufacturer's

4

ratings no less than the permitted vehicle.

5

(2)  The supplement is requested and obtained prior to

6

the permit effective start date.

7

(3)  The towed vehicle is not a mobile home or other load

8

where the trailer unit is an integral part of the load.

Section 2.  This act shall take effect in 60 days.
