| WHEREAS, The members of the Senate of the 130th General Assembly of Ohio are pleased to congratulate The Ohio State University Extension on one hundred years of outstanding service; and |
| WHEREAS, Since the establishment of the Cooperative Extension Service by the Smith-Lever Act in 1914, land-grant universities have made numerous significant contributions to the field of agricultural education. Over the years, The Ohio State University Extension has helped to enhance agriculture and the environment across the state, strengthen families and communities, advance employment and income opportunities, and prepare youth for success, and its impressive accomplishments readily explain why it is so widely held in high esteem; and |
| WHEREAS, Recognition of this milestone occasion is, indeed, a fitting tribute to The Ohio State University Extension. With offices in every county in Ohio, the OSU Extension is the official outreach arm of the university's College of Food, Agriculture, and Environmental Sciences, and all those associated with this fine endeavor, including its director, Keith Smith, have earned the gratitude and respect of many; and |
| WHEREAS, The achievements of The Ohio State University Extension are a justifiable source of pride and an excellent reflection not only on the initiative itself but also on its faculty, staff, and students and on the community. The extension has made many significant contributions towards improving the quality of life in our society, and all those associated with it are truly deserving of high praise; therefore be it |
| RESOLVED, That we, the members of the Senate of the 130th General Assembly of Ohio, in adopting this Resolution, commend The Ohio State University Extension on its outstanding record of service and extend best wishes for the future; and be it further |
| RESOLVED, That the Clerk of the Senate transmit a duly authenticated copy of this Resolution to The Ohio State University Extension. |
