        Introduced  by  Sen. ROLISON -- read twice and ordered printed, and when
          printed to be committed to the Committee on Codes  --  recommitted  to
          the  Committee  on  Codes  in accordance with Senate Rule 6, sec. 8 --
          committee discharged, bill amended, ordered reprinted as  amended  and
          recommitted to said committee

        AN  ACT  to  amend  the  criminal procedure law, in relation to granting
          peace officer status to uniformed court officers in the town of  Mont-
          gomery

          The  People of the State of New York, represented in Senate and Assem-
        bly, do enact as follows:

     1    Section 1. Section 2.10 of the criminal procedure law  is  amended  by
     2  adding a new subdivision 87 to read as follows:
     3    87.  Employees  of the town court of the town of Montgomery serving as
     4  uniformed court officers at such town  court;  provided,  however,  that
     5  nothing in this subdivision shall be deemed to authorize such officer to
     6  carry,  possess,  repair  or dispose of a firearm unless the appropriate
     7  license therefor has been issued pursuant to section 400.00 of the penal
     8  law.
     9    § 2. This act shall take effect immediately.
