        HONORING Tappan Zee Lodge No. 79 Free and Accepted
        Masons  Prince  Hall Affiliation of Pearl River, New
        York, upon the occasion of hosting its  54th  Annual
        Widows Breakfast

  WHEREAS,  It  is the sense of this Legislative Body to recognize and
pay tribute to those fraternal organizations of high purpose and  worthy
accomplishment whose endeavors have faithfully served the welfare of the
citizens of the State of New York; and

  WHEREAS,  Attendant  to  such  concern,  and in full accord with its
long-standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to honor
Tappan Zee Lodge No. 79 Free and Accepted Masons Prince Hall Affiliation
of Pearl River, New York, upon the occasion of hosting its  54th  Annual
Widows  Breakfast  on Sunday, April 28, 2024, honoring Past Master Jason
Hilton; and

  WHEREAS, The Free  and  Accepted  Masons  is  the  oldest  fraternal
organization  in  the world, dating back 3,000 years or more; Tappan Zee
Lodge No. 79, chartered on  December  17,  1932,  has  been  successful,
throughout  its  91-year  history,  as  a  significant  influence in the
community by providing leadership, a principled  way  of  life  that  is
deeply  rooted  in  a  system of values, social benevolence, emphasis on
individual excellence, and its service as a  stabilizing  force  in  the
community; and

  WHEREAS,  Tappan  Zee  Lodge  No.  79,  under  the  careful watch of
Worshipful Master Jason Curate and  the  Most  Worshipful  Grand  Master
Gregory  R.    Smith, Jr., the Members of the New York State Legislature
support the Lodge's tradition  of  its  54th  Annual  Widows  Breakfast,
honoring  Past  Master  Jason  Hilton,  and  take  the time to honor and
support the widows of the members who have ascended from  their  earthly
masonic journeys; and

  WHEREAS, Additionally, the Members of the New York State Legislature
acknowledge  the good work and upholding of the Lodge's traditions under
the benevolent leadership of Worshipful  Master  Jason  Curate  and  the
consistent  drive  toward  excellence  provided by Most Worshipful Grand
Master Gregory R. Smith, Jr.; and

  WHEREAS,  The  principles  of  freemasonry  compel  these  dedicated
members of Tappan Zee Lodge No. 79 to dispense charity while maintaining
integrity  and  honesty in their communities; belief in God, family, and
community are the core  values  of  their  organization;  they  continue
honorable  and charitable work, sustaining the tradition of perpetuating
the mason's oath on behalf of all members who are in the Upper Room; and

  WHEREAS, The Widows Breakfast was established to  bestow  honor  and
pay  tribute to the widows of the members of Tappan Zee Lodge No. 79 and
has remained a fundamental component of the Lodge as an annual event not
only of remembrance but also of thanks to those who have passed  on,  as
well  as  respect  to their beloved partners who supported them in their
journeys and good community works; and


  WHEREAS,  From  time  to  time,  this Legislative Body takes note of
certain altruistic organizations it  wishes  to  acknowledge  for  their
philanthropic  and community-oriented contributions to our society which
enhance the basic humanity among all the citizens of New York State;  we
take this opportunity to reflect, acknowledging and giving thanks to our
past elders for all they have accomplished in the name of good; and

  WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is proudly moved to honor and commend
the  members  of  Tappan  Zee  Lodge No. 79, past and present, and their
dedicated partners who have labored so  conscientiously  to  secure  and
improve  the  quality  of life for the community they serve; we give our
most heartfelt expression of love and gratitude to all the widows of the
Lodge; now, therefore, be it

  RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its  deliberations  to
honor  Tappan  Zee  Lodge  No.  79  Free and Accepted Masons Prince Hall
Affiliation of Pearl River, New York, upon the occasion of  hosting  its
54th Annual Widows Breakfast; and be it further

  RESOLVED,  That  a  copy  of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Past Master Jason Hilton, Tappan Zee Lodge No. 79.
