        CONGRATULATING   the   Waterford-Halfmoon   Girls'
        Soccer Team and Head Coach Meghan Reynolds upon  the
        occasion of winning the New York State Class C Girls
        Soccer Championship

  WHEREAS,  Individual  and team championships are highly sought after
in high school sports; this  Legislative  Body  commends  rare  athletic
achievements  and  pays  special  recognition  to  those who pursue such
excellence and become examples for the youth of this great Empire State;
and

  WHEREAS, Athletic competition helps to enhance both  the  moral  and
physical development of young athletes, preparing them for the future by
instilling in them the importance of teamwork, encouraging a standard of
healthy living, and developing a sense of fair play and competition; and

  WHEREAS,  This  Legislative Body is justly proud to congratulate the
Waterford-Halfmoon High School Girls Soccer Team and Head  Coach  Meghan
Reynolds upon the occasion of capturing the New York State Class C Girls
Soccer  Championship  on Sunday, November 12, 2023, at Homer High School
in Homer, New York; and

  WHEREAS, To the praise and  applause  of  their  excited  fans,  the
Fordians  were  able  to  surmount their opponents throughout the season
winning the Wasaren League, Section  2  and  Regional  Championships  en
route  to  accomplishing  the utmost high school sporting achievement in
this great Empire State; and

  WHEREAS, The Waterford-Halfmoon High School Girls Soccer Team  ended
a very successful season finishing with an overall record of 19-1-3, and
capped  their  historic  season  off with a 2-2 double-overtime tie with
Mount Academy to secure their share of the Class C New York State  Girls
Soccer Championship; and

  WHEREAS,  Proudly  donning the school's colors of scarlet and white,
family, friends, and the community at large loyally and enthusiastically
supported the Fordians throughout  their  journey  as  they  captured  a
second consecutive state title; and

  WHEREAS, In addition to exceptional team play between the lines, the
Waterford-Halfmoon  Fordians  excelled  in  the  classroom  garnering  a
collective 95.9 grade point average; and

  WHEREAS, In a sport such as soccer, which demands athletic  prowess,
speed, agility, and mental toughness, Head Coach Meghan Reynolds and her
expert   coaching   staff  worked  hard  to  hone  the  skills  of  this
championship team, teaching these  outstanding  athletes  lessons  which
will prove invaluable both on and off the pitch; and

  WHEREAS, Head Coach Reynolds and all the outstanding athletes on the
Waterford-Halfmoon  High  School Girls Soccer Team have clearly utilized
dedication,  determination  and  teamwork   in   providing   a   lasting

contribution  to  the spirit of excellence which is a tradition of their
school; now, therefore, be it

  RESOLVED,  That  this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
congratulate the members of the  Waterford-Halfmoon  High  School  Girls
Soccer  Team: Maddalyn Atwood, Bayly Beauregard, Imani Bloomfield, Rylan
Charbonneau, Alondra Collet Cruz, Emily Costello, Emily Fanniff, Addyson
Galuski, Payton Galuski, Zoe Grennon, Cassidy McClement,  Piper  Morris,
Riley  Noto,  Mia  O'Brien,  Alexandra  Phelps, Isabella Ramundo, Samara
Roberts, Katie Stallmer, Isabella Vecchio; Head Coach  Meghan  Reynolds,
and  Assistant  Coaches  Courtney  Trembley  and Maeve Fletcher on their
extraordinary season; and be it further

  RESOLVED, That copies of this  Resolution,  suitably  engrossed,  be
transmitted  to  the members of the Waterford-Halfmoon High School Girls
Soccer Team, Head Coach  Meghan  Reynolds,  Assistant  Coaches  Courtney
Trembley   and   Maeve  Fletcher,  Athletic  Director  Michael  Robbins,
Principal Christopher Scanlan and Superintendent Michael Healey.
