        MOURNING   the   death   of   Karen   A.  Colombo,
        distinguished citizen  and  devoted  member  of  her
        community

  WHEREAS, It is the custom of this Legislative Body to pay tribute to
citizens  of  the  State  of  New York whose lifework and civic endeavor
served to enhance the quality of life  in  their  communities  and  this
great Empire State; and

  WHEREAS,  Karen  A.  Colombo  of Croton-on-Hudson, New York, died on
Thursday, January 26, 2023, at the age of 75; and

  WHEREAS, Born on December 12, 1947, in Ossining, New  York,  to  the
late William and Marie (Kennedy) King; and

  WHEREAS,   This   fascinating  woman  did  many  things  during  her
illustrious career; she worked for many years as  a  teacher's  aide  at
Croton-Harmon  School  District; prior to that she worked at Grand Union
and North American Phillips Labs as well as being active with the Croton
caring committee, the Croton seniors and the Harry  Chapin  Run  against
Hunger; and

  WHEREAS,  Karen  A.  Colombo distinguished herself in her profession
and by her  sincere  dedication  and  substantial  contribution  to  the
welfare of her community; and

  WHEREAS, Karen A. Colombo's commitment to excellence, and her spirit
of  humanity,  carried  over  into  all  fields of enterprise, including
charitable and civic endeavors; and

  WHEREAS, Predeceased by her brother Michael King; Karen  A.  Colombo
is  survived  by  her  husband  of 50 years, Sam Colombo; her son, Chris
Colombo (Carrie Howe); her grandchildren Ashley Colombo (Hassan  Barrow)
and  Christopher  Colombo;  her  great  grandchildren, Jaida Astacio and
Amina Barrow; her sister, Jeanne King and her brother William King  Jr.;
and

  WHEREAS,  Armed  with a humanistic spirit and imbued with a sense of
compassion, Karen A. Colombo leaves behind  a  legacy  which  will  long
endure the passage of time and will remain as a comforting memory to all
she served and befriended; now, therefore, be it

  RESOLVED,  That  this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
mourn the death of Karen A. Colombo, distinguished citizen  and  devoted
member of her community; and be it further

  RESOLVED,  That  a  copy  of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to the family of Karen A. Colombo.
