AN ACT to amend the education law, in relation to requiring the audio
recording of regular meetings of school board
THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM-
BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:
1 Section 1. Section 1708 of the education law is amended by adding a
2 new subdivision 4 to read as follows:
3 4. THE CLERK AND ASSISTANT CLERK OR CLERKS OF THE MEETING SHALL KEEP A
4 TRUE AND ACCURATE AUDIO OR VIDEO WITH AUDIO RECORDING OF REGULAR MEET-
5 INGS OF THE SCHOOL BOARD, FOR THE PURPOSE OF MAKING SUCH RECORDINGS
6 AVAILABLE TO THE PUBLIC.
7 S 2. This act shall take effect on the first of July next succeeding
8 the date on which it shall have become a law.
