A RESOLUTION COMMENDING THE ESTEEMED CAREER AND PUBLIC SERVICE OF MRS. LISA MCGHEE DAVIS RENDERED TO THE CITIZENS OF MISSISSIPPI AS DEPUTY CLERK FOR THE MISSISSIPPI HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES, AND CONGRATULATING HER UPON THE OCCASION OF HER RETIREMENT.

     WHEREAS, after more than three decades in full-time capacity providing dedicated and zealous service to the Mississippi House of Representatives and the entire constituency of the 122 elected members which comprise the House's body, Mrs. Lisa McGhee Davis submitted her notice of retirement from public service as Deputy Clerk for the House of Representatives, on June 30, 2023, where she became a synonymous fixture associated with the legislative activity on the West Wing of the Mississippi State Capitol's third floor; and

     WHEREAS, a stellar employee and a proven invaluable asset to the House's systems of operation and functionality, Lisa's exceptional performance afforded her the opportunity to be meritoriously promoted, and her consistency never waivered from the date of her initial hire until her decision to conclude her prestigious legislative career with 31 years of extraordinary service, and earning the esteemed reputation of being the "voice of the House"; and

     WHEREAS, her meticulous attention to detail and unwavering commitment to excellence evidenced themselves to be instrumental in navigating the complexities of legislative processes, positioning her with a unique opportunity and distinguished privilege of witnessing the evolution of state history unfold in the shape of policy formulated by legislators, future governors, other statewide elected officials, congressmen and those who have transitioned from legislative careers to municipal leadership, state and federal judiciary membership, as well as statewide offices from auditor to Governor, as well as national ambassadorships and officeholders; and

     WHEREAS, throughout her tenure, Lisa spearheaded numerous initiatives aimed at modernizing and improving the efficiency of legislative operations, from the implementation of electronic voting systems to the introduction of electronic bill readers, her forward-thinking approach revolutionized how business was conducted in the House, paving the way for smoother and more transparent proceedings; and

     WHEREAS, Lisa's impact transcended the boundaries of the Mississippi Capitol, as she actively participated in various committees and organizations at both the state and national levels, assuming leadership roles on the Executive Committee of the National Conference of State Legislatures (NCSL) and chairmanship of the National Black Legislative Staff Leadership Council (NBLSLC), which underscored her influence and advocacy on critical issues facing Mississippians and the nation as a whole; and

     WHEREAS, her zealous advocacy for the advancement of sound policies that positively affected the implementation, efficiency and effectiveness of programs and incentives for legislators and staff alike, as well as the diligent efforts devoted to her real estate career, have afforded her the privilege of holding positions within numerous organizations, including:  leadership roles within the American Society of Legislative Clerks and Secretaries (ASLCS) as Support Staff Chair and Vice Chair; leadership roles within the National Black Caucus of State Legislators (NBCSL); service on the Legislative Staff Coordinating Committee of NCSL; as a board member of the United Resources Services of Mississippi and the You Can Do It Center; member of the National Association of Realtors and the Mississippi Association of Realtors; and as president of the National Association of Real Estate Brokers (NAREB); and

     WHEREAS, not to have a life with complete dimension and total fulfillment, Lisa discovered an ever abounding love when she met her soul mate, Ted Davis, which was solidified within the holy bonds and sacred covenant of marriage, in a romance that further expounded upon the tenets of love, generosity and selflessness shared between their three sons, Montrel McClenton, Branson Davis and Bradley Davis, and six grandchildren, each of whom have provided unwavering support, encouragement, and served her immediate source of inspiration for the pursuit of excellence throughout her illustrious career; and

     WHEREAS, upon retiring from her role as Deputy Clerk, Lisa embarked on a new chapter in her career as a consultant and lobbyist, and her personal achievements and affiliations are equally noteworthy, as the Broker of Rezults Realty, LLC, and founder of Rezults Consulting, LLC, allows her to bring her vast wealth of experience and expertise to the forefront of public policy advocacy, and further solidifies her commitment to advancing the interests of Mississippians, advocating for positive change on a broader scale and excellence in service within the real estate community; and

     WHEREAS, as she has embarked upon a new chapter in her career journey, Lisa's legacy of service, leadership and achievement will continue to inspire generations to come, a magnificent testament to her unwavering commitment to making a difference, coupled with her visionary leadership and tireless advocacy, which epitomize the very essence of public service; and

     WHEREAS, it is the policy of the House of Representatives to acknowledge outstanding Mississippians such as Mrs. Lisa Davis, whose unparalleled dedication, visionary leadership, vast contributions and countless achievements have made an indelible mark on the Mississippi Legislature and all those who have been privileged to know and work with her:

     NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI, That we do hereby commend the esteemed career and public service that Mrs. Lisa McGhee Davis rendered to the citizens of Mississippi as Deputy Clerk for the House of Representatives, congratulate her upon the occasion of her retirement from public service and extend warmest wishes for continued success in all her future endeavors.

     BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That copies of this resolution be furnished to Mrs. Lisa McGhee Davis and to the members of the Capitol Press Corps.
