AN ACT TO RESTORE THE RIGHT OF SUFFRAGE TO SCOTTY ADAM MCMAHAN OF COVINGTON COUNTY, MISSISSIPPI; TO RESTORE THE RIGHT OF SUFFRAGE TO MICHAEL GRAY OF PRENTISS COUNTY, MISSISSIPPI; AND FOR RELATED PURPOSES.

     BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI:

     SECTION 1.  The right of suffrage is hereby fully and completely restored to Scotty Adam McMahan of Covington County, Mississippi, who was disqualified as an elector as a result of his conviction on October 3, 2003, in Simpson County, for the crime of arson-residence in Simpson County, for which he was sentenced to serve four (4) years probation under the supervision of the Mississippi Department of Corrections.  He violated probation; and it was revoked.  On August 7, 2009, he was sentenced to term served.  

     He completed the terms and conditions of his conviction and was discharged on July 1, 2011.  The Legislature is informed that he has since conducted himself as a law-abiding and honorable citizen in a good and lawful manner.

     SECTION 2.  The right of suffrage is hereby fully and completely restored to Michael Gray of Prentiss County, Mississippi, who was disqualified as an elector as a result of his conviction for the crime of burglary larceny-residential on October 10, 2005, in Prentiss County, for which he was sentenced to serve five (5) years under the supervision of the Mississippi Department of Corrections.  On July 31, 2007, he violated his probation and it was revoked.  He was released to Earned Release Supervision on August 27, 2008.

     He was discharged on November 23, 2008.  The Legislature is informed that he has since conducted himself as a law-abiding and honorable citizen in a good and lawful manner.

     SECTION 3.  This act shall take effect and be in force from and after its passage.
