1.4BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:
1.5 Section 1. [10.582] VETERANS' VOICES MONTH.
1.6The month of October is designated as Veterans' Voices Month in recognition of the
1.7state's desire to honor, recognize, and celebrate the contributions of veterans. Schools,
1.8organizations, and communities in the state are encouraged to hold events and programs
1.9that honor veterans and educate students and citizens about the unique culture of the
1.10military by sharing and studying veterans' experiences through stories, essays, poetry, and
1.11art from the men and women who have served in the armed forces. The state declares that
1.12in order to educate the public, the governor may promote and encourage the observance of
1.13Veterans' Voices Month.
1.14EFFECTIVE DATE.This section is effective the day following final enactment.
