on receiving the 2011 Humanitarian of the Year award.

MADAM PRESIDENT:
I offer the following resolution and move its adoption:
A SENATE RESOLUTION congratulating Mark
Hagerman on receiving the 2011 Humanitarian of the Year
award.
Whereas, On May 3, 2011, Mark Hagerman will be
presented with the 2011 Humanitarian of the Year award by
the American Red Cross of Northeast Indiana;
Whereas, The Humanitarian of the Year award
recognizes an individual whose humanitarian contributions
to their local community exemplify the principles of the
International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement. The
award focuses on the first of these principles - humanity;
Whereas, Mr. Hagerman is CEO of the Hagerman
Group, one of the oldest and finest construction traditions in
the Midwest;
Whereas, Mr. Hagerman is a lifetime member of Trinity English Lutheran Church and is currently on the board of directors for the Fort Wayne Children's Zoo, Indiana Chamber of Commerce, Ivy Tech Community College
Foundation, Northeast Indiana Corporate Council, and
Valparaiso University; and
Whereas, Mark Hagerman has a long history of
philanthropic and civic involvement in his community. His
extensive history of business success, combined with a
generous and caring spirit, make him a deserving recipient
of the 2011 Humanitarian of the Year award: Therefore,
SECTION 1. The Indiana Senate congratulates Mark Hagerman
on receiving the 2011 Humanitarian of the Year Award.
SECTION 2. The Secretary of the Senate is hereby directed to
transmit a copy of this Resolution to Mark Hagerman.
