RESOLUTION
A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION honoring Bernadette Bartlett
on the occasion of her retirement from the Legislative Services Agency.
Whereas, Bernadette Bartlett will be retiring from the
Legislative Services Agency (LSA) at the end of the 2011
Session after almost 30 years of dedicated service to the men
and women of the House of Representatives and the Senate;
Whereas, Since beginning at LSA in 1981, Bernadette has
worked in many areas, including program evaluation, the
environment, natural resources, education, state
administration, insurance, homeland security, local
government, and property taxation;
Whereas, Always a team player, Bernadette helped out
where she was needed, including providing production
support on several evaluation reports and instrumental
assistance in staff development and training;
Whereas, Bernadette prioritizes the environment and serves
as a role model in promoting recycling efforts at home and
in the office;
Whereas, Before coming to work at LSA, Bernadette was an
academic advisor at Vincennes University, a secondary
English teacher in Lawrence Township and Rushville,
Indiana, and was an associate faculty member at IUPUI,
teaching business writing and composition;
Whereas, Bernadette Bartlett received a Master of Arts in
English from Ball State University, a Master of Science in
Education from Indiana University, a Bachelor of Arts from
Denison University in Granville, Ohio, and an Associate of
Science from Vincennes University in Computer
Programming Technology;
Whereas, When the action died down at the Indiana
General Assembly, Bernadette occupied her time with
cycling, writing plays and short stories, gardening, and
taking care of her dogs; and
Whereas, Even though Bernadette will be enjoying her
retirement, she will always remain in the hearts and minds of
Indiana legislators and her colleagues: Therefore,
SECTION 1. That the Indiana General Assembly congratulates Bernadette Bartlett on the occasion of her retirement and thanks her for her years of dedicated service to the state of Indiana.
SECTION 2. That copies of this resolution be transmitted by the Secretary of the Senate to Bernadette Bartlett.
