RESOLUTION
A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION honoring the Parkview Whitley
Hospital nursing staff.
Whereas, The Parkview Whitley Hospital nursing staff has
received some much deserved national recognition for its
nursing services;
Whereas, The Parkview Whitley Hospital nursing staff has
been named a 2011 recipient of the National Database of
Nursing Quality Indicators (NDNQI) Award for Outstanding
Nursing Quality for a Community Hospital;
Whereas, This award recognizes hospitals that improve
patient outcomes and maintain high nurse job satisfaction,
and recognizes six categories of hospitals based on
performance: academic; teaching; community;
rehabilitation; pediatric; and psychiatric;
Whereas, Parkview Whitley Hospital in Columbia City is
one of only six hospitals recognized out of more than 1,700
nationwide, which is about one-third of all hospitals in the
United States;
Whereas, This award is given to a staff that demonstrates
superior results across a broad range of nursing
performance indicators;
Whereas, Strategies employed at Parkview Whitley Hospital include the use of NDNQI data to drive optimal results for patients; interventions/strategies for falls,
pressure ulcers, and infections; investment in training and
data collection for patient safety; and use of nurses in driving
design of patient care areas; and
Whereas, The Parkview Whitley Hospital nursing staff is
committed to continuous improvement, outstanding
teamwork, effective leadership, and evidence-based
practices: Therefore,
SECTION 1. That the Indiana General Assembly congratulates the
Parkview Whitley Hospital nursing staff on receiving the NDNQI
Award for Outstanding Nursing Quality for a Community Hospital in
2011 and thanks the nursing staff for its dedicated service to Hoosiers.
SECTION 2. That the Principal Clerk of the House of
Representatives transmit a copy of this resolution to the administrator
of Parkview Whitley Hospital and the nursing staff of Parkview
Whitley Hospital.
