2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | ||||||
3 | learn of the death of Joseph Menich of Waukegan, who passed | ||||||
4 | away on September 13, 2014; and
| ||||||
5 | WHEREAS, Joseph Menich was born on June 13, 1927 in | ||||||
6 | Chicago; his parents were Joseph and Anna (nee Majercik) | ||||||
7 | Menich; he was a resident of Waukegan since 1951; and
| ||||||
8 | WHEREAS, Joseph Menich served his country as a member of | ||||||
9 | the United States Navy during World War II; and
| ||||||
10 | WHEREAS, Joseph Menich was employed with AT&T for 38 years | ||||||
11 | until his retirement; and
| ||||||
12 | WHEREAS, Joseph Menich was a member of St. Paul Lutheran | ||||||
13 | Church, the American Legion Homer Dahringer Post 281, and the | ||||||
14 | Telephone Pioneers of America; and
| ||||||
15 | WHEREAS, Joseph Menich enjoyed watching the Chicago Cubs, | ||||||
16 | golfing, and square dancing; and
| ||||||
17 | WHEREAS, Joseph Menich was preceded in death by his parents | ||||||
18 | and a great-grandchild, Patrick W. Oliver; and

1 | WHEREAS, Joseph Menich is survived by his wife of 64 years, | ||||||
2 | Lois (nee Gilberts); 2 daughters, Denise (Bob Olsen) Tewes and | ||||||
3 | Nancy (James) Rea; 2 grandchildren, Jamie Leigh Rea-Oliver and | ||||||
4 | Edward Eric Tewes; and his devoted caregiver, Edmar; therefore, | ||||||
5 | be it

6 | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL | ||||||
7 | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with his | ||||||
8 | family and friends, mourn the passing of Joseph Menich; and be | ||||||
9 | it further
| ||||||
10 | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | ||||||
11 | presented to the family of Joseph Menich as an expression of | ||||||
12 | our sympathy.
