| ||||||
2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened | ||||||
3 | to learn of the death of Mary Elizabeth Jeske, who passed away | ||||||
4 | on March 1, 2022 at the age of 39; and
| ||||||
5 | WHEREAS, Mary Elizabeth Jeske was born to Joe and Trish | ||||||
6 | Duffy in Western Springs on June 8, 1982; she attended St. John | ||||||
7 | of the Cross Grade School; as a child, she played basketball, | ||||||
8 | practiced Irish step-dancing, mowed the yard, and enjoyed | ||||||
9 | Lemonhead candy; during high school, she made money as a | ||||||
10 | babysitter and worked at a local bakery; she studied education | ||||||
11 | at John Carroll University; and
| ||||||
12 | WHEREAS, Mary Elizabeth Jeske was a devoted kindergarten | ||||||
13 | teacher at Seventh Avenue Elementary School in La Grange; and
| ||||||
14 | WHEREAS, Mary Elizabeth Jeske carried a big purse filled | ||||||
15 | with goodies, including Cheez-Its for children, and she always | ||||||
16 | seemed to know the right time and age to thrill a child with a | ||||||
17 | gift of Legos or Magna-Tiles; and

18 | WHEREAS, Mary Elizabeth Jeske loved heirlooms and inline | ||||||
19 | skates; she treasured her grandmother's old furniture and fur | ||||||
20 | coat; she also loved being invited to events, and she readily | ||||||
21 | accepted offers to a sports game or a day out; and

1 | WHEREAS, Mary Elizabeth Jeske, who always greeted people | ||||||
2 | with a kiss on the cheek, will be remembered for her | ||||||
3 | thoughtful, kind, patient, and very outgoing nature; and

4 | WHEREAS, Mary Elizabeth Jeske was the wife of James | ||||||
5 | "Jimmy" Jeske; the mother of James Henry "Harry" Jeske; the | ||||||
6 | daughter of Joe and Trish Duffy; the sister of Joe (C.C.) Duffy | ||||||
7 | and Jack (Maggie) Duffy; the daughter-in-law of Jerome and | ||||||
8 | Grace Jeske; the sister-in-law of Bob (Mary) Jeske, Mark | ||||||
9 | Jeske, Carole (Lenny) Mandro, Mary (Ray) Schwarz, Joanne | ||||||
10 | (John) Rogus, Patty Benker, Kathy Jeske, Matt (Meghan) Jeske, | ||||||
11 | and Dan (Jennifer) Jeske; and the aunt of Coco, Finn, Eloise, | ||||||
12 | Tom, Michael, Joey, Johnny, Blake, David, Jake, Samantha, | ||||||

14 | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED THIRD GENERAL | ||||||
15 | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | ||||||
16 | Mary Elizabeth Jeske and extend our sincere condolences to her | ||||||
17 | family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it | ||||||
18 | further

19 | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | ||||||
