Bill Title: Proposes to amend the Suffrage and Elections Article of the Illinois Constitution. Provides that every United States citizen who has attained the age of 18 or any other voting age required by the United States for voting (currently voting in State elections) and who has been a permanent resident of this State for at least 30 days next preceding any election shall have the right to vote at such election.

SYNOPSIS AS INTRODUCED:
ILCON Art. III, Sec. 1

Proposes to amend the Suffrage and Elections Article of the Illinois Constitution. Provides that every United States citizen who has attained the age of 18 or any other voting age required by the United States for voting (currently voting in State elections) and who has been a permanent resident of this State for at least 30 days next preceding any election shall have the right to vote at such election.

3 RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED THIRD GENERAL
4ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, THE HOUSE OF
5REPRESENTATIVES CONCURRING HEREIN, that there shall be
6submitted to the electors of the State for adoption or
7rejection at the general election next occurring at least 6
8months after the adoption of this resolution a proposition to
9amend Section 7 of Article III of the Illinois Constitution as

14SECTION 1. VOTING QUALIFICATIONS
15 Every United States citizen who has attained the age of 18
16or any other voting age required by the United States for
17voting in State elections and who has been a permanent
18resident of this State for at least 30 days next preceding any
19election shall have the right to vote at such election. The
20General Assembly by law may establish registration
21requirements and require permanent residence in an election
22district not to exceed thirty days prior to an election. The
23General Assembly by law may establish shorter residence
