Bill Title: Amends the General Assembly Operations Act. Provides that any member of the General Assembly who wishes to introduce a bill pertaining to a firearm must be able to prove that he or she has completed firearm training requirements under the Firearm Concealed Carry Act, range safety officer training, and a basic knowledge test of calibers and gauges of firearms.

SYNOPSIS AS INTRODUCED:
25 ILCS 10/13 new

Amends the General Assembly Operations Act. Provides that any member of the General Assembly who wishes to introduce a bill pertaining to a firearm must be able to prove that he or she has completed firearm training requirements under the Firearm Concealed Carry Act, range safety officer training, and a basic knowledge test of calibers and gauges of firearms.

1 AN ACT concerning State government.
2 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
3represented in the General Assembly:
4 Section 5. The General Assembly Operations Act is amended
5by adding Section 13 as follows:
6 (25 ILCS 10/13 new)
7 Sec. 13. Firearm legislation; requirements. Any member of
8the General Assembly who wishes to introduce a bill pertaining
9to a firearm must be able to produce proof, upon request, that
10he or she has completed: (1) the firearm training requirements
11under Section 75 of the Firearm Concealed Carry Act; (2) range
12safety officer training; and (3) a basic knowledge test of
13calibers and gauges of firearms.
