AN ACT concerning transportation.
Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
represented in the General Assembly:
Section 5. The Illinois Vehicle Code is amended by adding
Section 3-806.7a as follows:
(625 ILCS 5/3-806.7a new)
Sec. 3-806.7a. Registration fees for volunteer
firefighters and emergency medical services personnel.
(a) Beginning with the first registration year commencing
after the effective date of this amendatory Act of the 103rd
General Assembly, the standard registration fee set forth in
Section 3-806 for passenger motor vehicles of the first
division and motor vehicles of the second division weighing
not more than 8,000 pounds and registered under Section 3-815
shall be waived for any Illinois vehicle owner who is a
volunteer firefighter or employed as emergency medical
services personnel.
(b) This Section does not apply to the fee set forth in
Section 3-805 for electric vehicles.
