STATE OF HAWAII

 

 

 

 

 

 

A BILL FOR AN ACT

 

 

relating to a state lottery.

 

 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF HAWAII:

 


     SECTION 1.  (a)  The legislative reference bureau shall conduct a feasibility study for the establishment of a state lottery.

     (b)  The study shall examine:

     (1)  The positive and negative effects of state lotteries in other states;

     (2)  Estimated revenues generated by state lotteries; and

     (3)  Cost estimates and other implementation requirements associated with legalizing a state lottery in Hawaii.

     (c)  The legislative reference bureau shall submit a report of its findings and recommendations, including any proposed legislation, to the legislature no later than twenty days prior to the convening of the regular session of 2025.

     SECTION 2.  This Act shall take effect upon its approval.
