A
RESOLUTION
Recognizing
and commending Mr. Todd Chandler; and for other purposes.
WHEREAS,
Mr. Todd Chandler is widely recognized throughout his community and this state
as the personification of excellence in education; and
WHEREAS,
this highly respected teacher has served with honor and distinction as a
professional educator at Jackson County Comprehensive High School;
and
WHEREAS,
in recognition of his outstanding dedication to academic achievement, he has
been named Jackson County Comprehensive High School's 2010 STAR Teacher;
and
WHEREAS,
Mr. Chandler earned a bachelor's degree from Shorter College, is pursuing a
master's degree in music education from Piedmont College, and studied with
conductors from the Royal Academy of Music in London and the Liszt School of
Music in Weimar, Germany; and
WHEREAS,
he serves as Choral Director at Jackson County Comprehensive High School, and
his choirs have performed at NWGA Choral Festivals, NPR Live Radio shows in
Atlanta, and the 2004 ACDA Summer Convention at Spivey Hall; and
WHEREAS,
a resident of Commerce, Georgia, Mr. Chandler is united in love and marriage to
his wife, Renee, and is blessed with three remarkable children, Colin, Chloe,
and Carleigh; and
WHEREAS,
he is a shining example of the important impact that the efforts of individual
classroom teachers are making on the quality of education received by the
children of this state and it is abundantly fitting and proper that his
superlative accomplishments be recognized appropriately.
NOW,
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that the members of
this body heartily and gratefully commend Mr. Todd Chandler for his sacrifice,
foresight, accomplishment, and contributions on behalf of education in Georgia
and for the positive influence he has had upon the lives and futures of so many
young people in this state and congratulate him upon being named Jackson County
Comprehensive High School's 2010 STAR Teacher.
BE
IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized
and directed to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to Mr. Todd
Chandler.
