EXTENDING THE REPORTING DATE OF THE DSD-STATEWIDE TASK FORCE. |
WHEREAS, Delaware School for the Deaf and Statewide Programs for the Deaf, Hard of Hearing and Deaf-Blind Task Force (hereinafter "DSD-Statewide Task Force") was established under House Resolution No. 20 of the 147th General Assembly to study the current condition of educational services available to persons who are deaf, hard of hearing and deaf-blind up to the age of twenty-one throughout the State of Delaware, and to study the feasibility of having DSD-Statewide being administratively located within a local education agency, and to make findings and recommendations based on the study; and
WHEREAS, the DSD-Statewide Task Force was directed to submit its findings and recommendations report to the Speaker of the House of Representatives and the chair of the Education Committee on or before April 30, 2014; and
WHEREAS, the DSD-Statewide Task Force has worked diligently on its study, but is not yet prepared to submit its report; and
WHEREAS, the DSD-Statewide Task force has requested that they be given the additional time in order to ensure that the group's recommendations be a true reflection of the consensus of the members; and
WHEREAS, the members of the DSD-Statewide Task Force believe that they will be able to submit the report by June 1, 2014;
NOW, THEREFORE:
BE IT RESOLVED by the House of Representatives of the 147th General Assembly of the State of Delaware that the date by which the findings and recommendations report of the DSD-Statewide Task Force is due be extended to June 1, 2014.
