AN ACT ESTABLISHING A SENATE ETHICS COMMITTEE.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:

That chapter 16 of the general statutes be amended to create a Senate ethics committee with the power to (1) investigate alleged illegal or unethical conduct by senators, and (2) recommend sanctions for any senator found to have committed unethical conduct.

Statement of Purpose:

To promote ethical conduct in the General Assembly and to provide appropriate sanctions for unethical conduct.
