AN ACT CONCERNING MUNICIPAL PENSIONS FOR ELECTED OFFICIALS.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:
That the general statutes be amended to provide that any municipality with a charter provision providing that elected officials of the municipality with a minimum length of service are entitled to a municipal pension of some percentage of their salary prior to retirement may enact an ordinance providing a pension of a higher percentage for officials with a greater length of service.
Statement of Purpose:
To allow municipalities flexibility regarding the payment of certain pensions.
