A resolution to propose to the people of the State of California an amendment to the Constitution of the State, by amending Section 2 of Article II thereof, relating to elections.

ACA 10, as introduced, Low. Elections: voter qualifications.
The California Constitution allows a United States citizen who is at least 18 years of age and a resident of California to vote.
This measure would reduce the minimum voting age to 17.

Resolved by the Assembly, the Senate concurring, That the Legislature of the State of California at its 2017-18 Regular Session commencing on the fifth day of December 2016, two-thirds of the membership of each house concurring, hereby proposes to the people of the State of California, that the Constitution of the State be amended as follows:

 That Section 2 of Article II thereof is amended to read:

SEC. 2.
 A United States citizen 18 who is at least 17 years of age and resident in this State may vote.
